As you may know, RTX has now ended, and lives are back to being boring and not as fun. But this is gonna be my RTX journal for this year, so enjoy the ride of spellnig errors and plot holes!
Day 1 (Wednesday)
I arrived around 6:15(ish) due to my flight getting delayed because "The plane was hot" or something, so that was a little annoying, but other than that, can't really complain. @Alyce was super kind enough to pick me up from the airport, and then we headed over to Macaroni Grill to meet with @Zoelinda94 and the rest of their family, who are super awesome. Late that night, roughly at 12:30 AM, m'boi @preston rolled in, and we immediately went to get Whataburger to fill our very empty stomachs. I also tried on his cosplay, and his clothes fit me really well, surprisingly.
Day 2 (Thursday)
We all woke up, and went to get some Home Slice pizza. It. was. amazing. We expected him in later, but my heterosexual life-mate Cameron landed early, so we rushed over to the airport to pick him up. Shortly after, around 1 PM, we went back to the airport to pick up the super amazing @sarahbellum and her friend Matt, who was one of the coolest guy's I had the pleasure of meeting. Afterwards, we headed to the JW Marriott to check in. Holy balls, that hotel is nice as dicks. After we did that, we went to go register for our RTX badges, and there they were, sitting in the Hilton lobby... @iSayWhat, @lrnbnn, @Gaelfox, @The_Hybrid, @Hightower, @guarded-belief, Sean (I don't know your username, I'm sorry D:). James and I obviously had a weird bro-mance thing going down, Lauren gives some of the NICEST, WARMEST hugs you could possibly imagine, and it's super lovely! After we did that, we went to Frank to get some hotdogs and poutine, as is our tradition for RTX and it being our first meal. We hung around for a short while afterwards, and then went to hang by the pool. After that, the large group split, and we went to Fado's Irish pub to get some Guinness Barbecue wings, and indulge in a bit of heaven.
Day 3 (First day of the convention)
I originally planned on going to the Happy Hour panel, but instead went to the main stage to see m'bois @trevorc, along with @Jeremy and @Axialmatt. Got a very front row seat to watch them stream Gang Beasts with @foxtasmo, which was absolutely hilarious. Afterwards, we hung out in the lounge for a little bit, and wandered the floors. Later that evening, I went to the Cards Against Humanity panel, which was terribly hilarious. Also, while waiting in line, @Josho came running in screaming "GIVE ME YOUR CHEST!" so he could keep our RTX traditions going and drew on it. This year, I apparently joined the Illuminati, so I can't complain, haha. The Game Grumps guys, along with Rt staff made the panel so enjoyable (As did the penguin). Later, we headed to 6th street and met up with @JJ, and as always, he was a total homie and super down to earth.
Day 4 (Second day of the convention)
Wanted to see the RvB panel, but ended up not going to it. Instead I wandered around the halls with Preston, and passed by Griffon's booth. Someone was asking her and @geoff to sign her chest, but Geoff had said he's not allowed to sign women's chests anymore. Me thinking I'd be funny, I asked if he wanted to sign mine. He Looked at me with the straightest possible face and goes "Yeah, I'll sign your chest!", and he totally did. He made sure Griffon saw, and then she revealed "I'm dead to her". A few minutes later, we circled back, and I asked if she wanted to get the other side, and she was so awesome in doing so. To get back at him, she got Geoff's attention and just maintained eye-contact as she signed. Probably one of the funniest interactions the entire weekend! At 12, we went into the Stream Team panel, which was hilarious (Except for when EVERYONE in the audience was a dick and joined the fibbage game before they even got in). Later, we went to the AH-Behind the scenes, which was just as enjoyable to watch and be a part of! (Thanks again, Jeremy for letting me steal the remaining snickers after the panel). At 7, I went to @OboeCrazy's Dungeons & Dragons & Drunks, AKA D&D&D. That was so much fun, and it was awesome to see so many others involved and energetic in there! Later, we went back to the hotel and played an amazing game of Superfight. We were a tad loud... I don't care if we annoyed other guests though. WE HAD FUN! THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!
Day 5 (Final day of the convention)
We started the morning out right; The Community Hunter Panel! As always, it was a blast to watch, and James absolutely floored everyone with his finale for the panel, with Dan's "Umm's" in the beat of Overture 1812. Honestly, probably the hardest I've laughed in such a long time. Afterwards, we went to Crêpe Cafe with Kat (I'm sorry, I don't know your username either D:) and tried to solve a lone star bottle cap riddle, until I broke down and looked it up because I'm a poor sport. Afterwards, we headed to the Achievement Hunter Panel, where @caleb was so nice and awesome by getting us the BEST seats in the panel (Seriously, I still can't thank you enough for it). That panel was absolutely hysterical. And the part with that adorable little girl, oh my god! I'm not a big fan of children, but that child was SO CUTE! Later, we went to the Game Kids panel, which I think might've been one of my favorites, solely because nobody in the audience once tried shouting something or heckling like most other panels. Everyone in there was so polite and kind, it was seriously a miraculous experience. That night, we headed back to Alyce and Zoe's new apartment that they were kind enough to let us stay in. We played some very strange beer pong, and then things happened that shall not be mentioned.
Day 6 (Last day in Austin)
Today, being my last day in Austin, we ended up just relaxing. We went to Sam's club so the girl's could buy a new TV, and they got a really good deal on a smart TV. Afterwards, we headed to Gordough's for some lunch. I honestly am surprised I haven't died yet from all this food. Headed back to their apartment to play one last round of Superfight, and then headed to the airport. I'm now home, and I can't wait to return next year (And hopefully sooner)
If you made it this far in the journal, you deserve a medal or something. I'm not gonna give you one since I don't have one, but you get the idea.
Tl;Dr: RTX was super awesome and fun, and I can't wait to go back next year to hang out with everyone again!
