      Myshu chupariffic

Hi guys, I was approached with a little quandary and wanted to bounce it off you guys, the RT community, since here's where shiz got started.

(And I gotta make this quick, since I need to hurry to work)

Recently I started uploading chupa comics to my FurAffinity account (yeah, shut up, I know...) and chupathingys caught the attention of quite a few fine furries. A couple of 'em even dug around and noticed the chupababies that I'd been giving out over here on-and-off for the past four years.

I directed those people to THIS THREAD, which is where those who've never adopted from me before can get their first chupababy (it's always open, and free!)

Historically, chupababies have been a treat for the Rooster Teeth community. Members here could post baby chupas to their profiles, or give them as gifts to non-members, but the RT membership has always been a factor and huge part of the process. We even have a long roster of 'parents' who've adopted from me (and other kind artists!) The whole list is still here.

Here's the rub, though: it's been some years. The RT site has changed a lot. The community here is... ah, to say it's in a state of disrepair would be the polite way to word it, I guess. The fact of it is that these people coming to me from FA/Twitter/Tumblr want to take advantage of the draw-one/get-one-free chupababies, but don't want to make RT accounts, even though they're free.

I was actually talking to one person today who couldn't figure out how to make an account here and kept getting errors when he tried. Suddenly my request for someone to simply have a Rooster Teeth account to get a free chupa is a cumbersome demand, and I kinda want to blame the website, but that isn't entirely fair, either--it's just the state of things, these days.

So, what do you guys think I should do for these non-RT requests?

    • Roostercrow asked Myshu a question

Did you see AH is looking for a animator? You think your going to go for it?

      Answered: Sep 21, 2016

I did see! It's a bit of a tough call for me. For one, I'll have to see if I can produce something by that deadline, eh? It looks like it was designed that way on purpose, to see if the animator can keep up with a demanding production schedule.

Hiya, chupamigos! Good news: chapter eight of the comic officially starts next Thursday.

...Orrrrrrrr it starts right now, on my new patreon page!

I just made a stupid video for it and everything.

If you'd like to support me there, you'd be an awesome person, and I would love you long time (or at least, y'know, on a monthly basis.) And you'd get to see new comics a week in advance! There's three fresh pages waiting up in that shiz already.

You guys have supported me and my crazy chupathingys in so many ways over the years, it's really humbling to think about. I sometimes wish I could give back in a bigger way, y'know? Yet the best I can do is keep on truckin', creating gifs and comics. I like making 'em, and you guys like seeing them (I hope?) so everybody wins.

That said! Anybody from this site who throws even $1 at my patreon will get one chupababy, custom-made for you and personally drawn into the world (fur-filled nappy and all.) All you gotta do is either message me on Patreon with your RT name, or message me here with your Patreon info.

      cb-patreon.png
I'm doing this only for you guys because I <3 my RT family, and want to appreciate y'all.

      "But Myshu, I'm poor ;_;"

That's cool! (So am I, bruh.) New comics and website updates will be posted next week for everybody, no charge. I'm going to do my damnedest to update twice a month while working on some animation projects. Gonna have a lot to show you guys in the coming year!

I'm excited. You excited? Let's excite.

      (Love y'all)

Yeah, I wish that I had the time to draw it better, but it literally took about an hour per panel to make, so if I put any more effort into it, it would have completely taken over my life... or I would have given up on it.

    • darthwader FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Deconstruction is a little more difficult, because the chapters are huge (often around 30 panels) so it's hard to find an image sharing site that doesn't shrink the image down.

Aww, but I was trying to give Tucker some hawtness -- I gave him pecs.

The only change to the site that bugs me is the one that makes it freeze for five minutes at a time when I use any browser except for Chrome, oh, and the one that makes posts glitch and post three times when looking like it hasn't posted at all -- they should fix those, it didn't do that before the "Delta" version of the site was released. The change to the mod system was a big deal, but meh, it means no one can mod-spam stuff anymore with -100 lame, so fair enough really.

I was pitted to the post, as it were, a few times lately with little things. It's just one of them was something I was going to incorporate into a drawing as a little joke and now it's already out there and will look like I stole the idea. Not really a big deal.

      You're welcome smiley1.gif

Yeah, I've heard that too, something to do with it being 7000 years since Noah's flood. Oh well, fires of hell for me then, at least it's warm and there's rock music. Don't forget to stock up on spray-paint on the 20th.

Reading is a definite possibility, I was wondering what kind of books though -- probably not fantasy novels since the dragon is usually the bad guy, maybe books about ancient Chinese legends, apart from that I'm not really sure. Any thoughts?

Luckily, although her hands are large, she has very good eyesight, so no need for large print versions.

    • DocRossim

Indeed smiley4.gif very nearly beats my favourite quote from "The Whole Nine Yards".

Well it was the largest piece of fabric she could get smiley8.gif She does have some other stuff she's made (revealed later) but for basic out-and-about clothing she goes with the low-maintenance bedsheet dress mainly. There's an ensemble made from pillowcases too.

      Yeah, sorry about the crossed lines earlier ^_^;

Oops, posted that last comment about the dragon with the cupcake on its head on the wrong profile, sorry about that. For context, I was discussing this picture, which someone drew for Griffon Ramsey's birthday, with FoxBoyPrower.

Thankyou smiley1.gif Yeah, I know, looking back I feel I could do a lot better now. I'm planning to re-draw them some time, also make their legs more animalesque. What's the proper term? Something-agrade...

Oh, I see. Heheheh, it's funny because I used to think Tex might be Scottish -- 'cause she's got red hair and in the Song Nico calls her Beth, which could be some reference to MacBeth... although she's be, like, a Scots-Jewish Texan then... Anyway, so you go to Scotland every so often then?

You should take a clipboard, you could do some sketches while you're sittin' there. Ooh, and then you could sketch suspicious looking people, and make characters out of them, maybe that might even lead into a job as a police sketch-artist one day.

      Well you are awesome.

      Wait, you're Scottish-Texan?
Ah, the camels, right *facepalm of forgetfullness*

Yeah, I'm just looking at lots of "options" as it were when it comes to those pet site things. Also I need more variety for my portfolio so it'll be something for that too if I do.

      Still pulling the graveyard shift?

    • DocRossim

Yeah, I don't know if you saw a few old Sims 2 videos I've made, but I'm also doing a bit of sims 2 footage for Oroboros's Halo 3 machinima project (sort of the equivalent of what Monty did with CGI for the season nine trailer... but nowhere near as awesome). It's been a lot more work and taken WAY longer than I thought it would, so I'm glad it's only for one episode.

I d'know, your comics are a lot better than anything I've done, and still pretty good compared to many I've seen elsewhere, certainly I can see the work you put into them. I've been reading some of the ones from Deviant Art and through all the white chimera ones, all look darn good to me smiley0.gif

      I guess it's a good thing I don't believe in hell.

I have a few favourite fonts: I never use Ariel, always Tahoma, I tend to use Post Human or Marker Man rather than comic sans although I do use it now and then, and I'm always looking for better fonts to use for things like hand-writing. Bank Gothic is a favourite for anything semi-futuristic or very professional looking, and impact for anything that needs, well, impact, but I still tend to replace all the capital "i"s with Tahoma just because sans-serif capital "i"s annoy me.

Ah, portraits can be fun sometimes but other times not -- especially if they're a difficult subject to draw, and on a large scale is always worse. At least you got it done.

So not super-fun but nice to get away then, yeah? Where did you go?

Day job? Well I'm really more freelance so work comes and goes -- right now I'm doing some VAT stuff for my Dad, who doesn't have time to do it, I've got some plans work coming up soon too. I've been thinking of signing up to some "pet" sites since I hear you can set up a store and sell "adoptables" and stuff, a friend from D.A. suggested it. I don't really have time for commissions at the moment but considering that too.

      How about you?
