Hi guys, I was approached with a little quandary and wanted to bounce it off you guys, the RT community, since here's where shiz got started.
(And I gotta make this quick, since I need to hurry to work)
Recently I started uploading chupa comics to my FurAffinity account (yeah, shut up, I know...) and chupathingys caught the attention of quite a few fine furries. A couple of 'em even dug around and noticed the chupababies that I'd been giving out over here on-and-off for the past four years.
I directed those people to THIS THREAD, which is where those who've never adopted from me before can get their first chupababy (it's always open, and free!)
Historically, chupababies have been a treat for the Rooster Teeth community. Members here could post baby chupas to their profiles, or give them as gifts to non-members, but the RT membership has always been a factor and huge part of the process. We even have a long roster of 'parents' who've adopted from me (and other kind artists!) The whole list is still here.
Here's the rub, though: it's been some years. The RT site has changed a lot. The community here is... ah, to say it's in a state of disrepair would be the polite way to word it, I guess. The fact of it is that these people coming to me from FA/Twitter/Tumblr want to take advantage of the draw-one/get-one-free chupababies, but don't want to make RT accounts, even though they're free.
I was actually talking to one person today who couldn't figure out how to make an account here and kept getting errors when he tried. Suddenly my request for someone to simply have a Rooster Teeth account to get a free chupa is a cumbersome demand, and I kinda want to blame the website, but that isn't entirely fair, either--it's just the state of things, these days.
So, what do you guys think I should do for these non-RT requests?
