GUYS! RTX is this week! ARE YOU EXCITED?
Ahem, sorry for all the caps. Just needed to get that out. Now, seriously though, RTX is this weekend and we're going to be there. The question is, are you? If so, we want to see you there!
We're having a meet up in Austin on Rainey Street. You can find more details at the links below. Do you have friends from other states or countries you want to bring along? Good! Bring them. The more the merrier and we want to meet them too. Chances are we'll have a few people from Maine joining us as well!
We know most people are adults and responsible and whatnot, but make sure to stay safe and follow the convention rules while you're out there. Oh, and don't give the Guardians a hard time, they're just doing the their jobs and trying to make RTX fun for everyone.
And just a bit of advice from a few veteran attendees to the newbies, or anyone who just has questions:
1. Pick up your badge early
If you can, pick up your badge early. Like, the day before early. It will save you a LONG wait the morning of.
2. RTX Lines
Man, the lines for panels can a pain in the butt! If you're not sure whether you'll make it into a panel because of the lines, subscribe to their Twitter for up to the date notifications. If you end up missing a panel, make sure you have back up plans because chances are, it will happen.
3. Check out the RTX app
The thing is a life saver for planning out your schedule, getting reminders, keeping up with schedule changes, maps of the convention and city, an event list, etc. You get the idea. It's available for iOS and Android!
4. After hours Events
Speaking of events, RTX has so many after hour things to do from actual convention plans like Theater Mode Live and the VIP party, to community events like our own Florida meet up. Take a look on the forums or ask around on what there is. Can't find anything but really want to do something? Ask us!
5. Meet new people!
One of Rooster Teeth's prime features is community. Go out and interact with your members, whether you know them or not. We promise you'll walk away with a handful of new friends if you try.
6. Mind your wardrobe
Austin is hot. Just about as hot as Florida, if not more so. Be prepared, wear shorts, and as a courtesy to others, make sure to shower and wear deodorant. I know it's a weird thing to say, but there are going to be tens of thousands of people crammed into one room, you don't want to add to the smell.
Any more questions, feel free to ask us, or check out their 10 Things to Know post with more official times and info.
