I.T. Stuff
In my house hold I live with my parents while I go to school, mostly because I don't have a steady paying job to pay rent somewhere. But anyway, all the networking equipment in my house is located in my bedroom because I'm the only one who knows how it works. This morning (11/2/11) my father as he usually does at 6:30 in the morning, when he needs to talk to me while I'm asleep, opens the door as loud a possible presses the button on the front of the router about 5 times unplugs it and plugs it back in, mumbles something to me and leaves. I make the assumption that the wireless isn't working on the router when he busts in the third time. Now the internet works fine when your plugged in via Ethernet like my Desktop and Xbox, in the router settings it says the wireless is fine. So I don't know what to do. I can connect to the internet and I'm home most of the day, if my dad wants to browse the web he has a job he can go to and a smart phone he can look at. I won't be home til late tonight and I know if the wireless isn't working when he gets home my privacy gets invaded as my father, which doesn't know what he is doing, will try to fix the problem himself. The reason my dad thinks he knows what he's doing is because in the 90s he was a computer guy, so now 15 to 20 years later he thinks everything runs the exact same. WarnedAce Dustin Neidig |
