    • Website and App Updates

Hey everyone! We have a few new site and app updates for you to check out!

First up, I'm happy to announce that you are now able to stay in fullscreen mode while binging videos, rather than having to re-select the fullscreen option each time a new video loads! We split your watchlist into tabs to make it easier to find the episodes AND series that you follow. You’ll also see that sort and filter options on the series page have been broken out into separate dropdown menus. That should make things a little less confusing and improve the experience.

Secondly, in the RT mobile app iOS and Android, you can now check out the all new app settings page. We’ve added in a color picker and video quality options so you can tailor to your streaming and customization needs! We've also made some performance improvements, so be sure to download the latest update and let us know what you think.

Lastly, we’ve implemented some new mod features for chat including user time outs. This is an admin-only feature but one we hope will keep the RT chats some of the best on the web!

If you haven’t stopped by in a while, be sure to head to to see what’s new on the site and download the mobile app so you never miss an RT beat!

Stay tuned for more rad changes coming soon!

why does your dog have to be so freaking adorable

      Answered: May 21, 2018

lol I think being that adorable is pretty much his only self defense mechanism. He wouldn't survive otherwise.

Hey is there a link to report a bug or give feedback on the site? I was just in my settings on the new site, and it would be good to see when my plan expires and how much my plan costs.

Hey everyone! Following swiftly on the announcement that Chromecast support is now available for iOS and Android, we have just pushed another update with this one including BACKGROUND PLAYBACK! Yes! You asked for it and you shall receive. This is a FIRST-only feature so you have to make sure that you're logged in to be able to enjoy this sweet new perk. (Not a FIRST member? Sign-up now and start your free trial!)

So, make sure that your app is up-to-date, enable background play in the app settings, and go forth and start listening to all your favorite videos, series, and podcasts with ease.

Don't have the app yet so you can't enjoy these wicked new features? Go get it now, available on iOS in the Apple Store and Android in the Google Play Store! More things will be coming, so stick around to find out what's coming out next.

    • Latest update to the new apps

What’s up y’all! I’m very excited to announce that the latest update to the Rooster Teeth apps includes support for Chromecast! It's available now for iOS (Get it here!) and Android (Available now!), so check the app store to download the Rooster Teeth app or update yours -  and start streaming!

How to stream videos from via Chromecast:

      • Make sure that your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

      • Open the app

      • Find something awesome to watch

      • Tap the Cast button, a square with three curved lines like the Wi-Fi symbol coming out of the corner.

      • If you only have a single Chromecast on the network, the video should start playing immediately. If not, you'll see a list of available devices, and you'll have to tap on the one you want to cast the video to.

And that’s how easy it is to have Chromecast right at your fingertips. We’ll be back soon to talk more about what’s coming down the pipe for mobile apps and web. Stay tuned!

    • RT Engineering AMA - On the New Video Site!

      Hi, everyone!

I can’t believe the launch of the new Rooster Teeth video site and mobile apps is less than a week away. We’ve been busy getting ready to turn off the old video site, fixing some account and login related issues, and building much needed settings page functionality.

We wanted to take another break and try something that uses the RT video site’s new chat features. Join Mike Quinn (@mikequinn), Dave Pratt (@Dave), Adam Tyler (@lazy9669), and me on our beta site for a livestream and ask us anything you've ever wanted to know about what makes the new Rooster Teeth site tick. The amazing Barbara will be there to host, and we’ll talk a bit about what’s being planned for the new community site. Since it’s going to be a livestream, hopefully we’ll be able to answer even more questions than we did last week on r/roosterteeth!

It’s happening this afternoon (3/27) from 5-6pm CDT. We can’t wait to see you there!

      Hugs 'n snuggles,

    • Launch date - New site! New apps!

Hello, you lovely people. Big news today so I’ll just get right to it - the new video site and mobile apps are launching next Friday, March 30! We’re so excited! And sleep-deprived! But mostly excited! It’s been a long time coming, and we really believe that we have created the best place on the internet for the Rooster Teeth community to watch our favorite shows. In more news, keep an eye out a bit later for news on a public beta for Android users. iOS users, we’re sorry but we won’t be able to have a public beta, but we have a few folks in the community checking it out so they can give you reports. Here's one now!

A bunch of us will be jumping into the chat next Friday to watch the Let's Play Spring Break, and you’ll be able to join us on the site and apps. Can’t wait to see everyone!

      Hugs and kisses,

Hey, everyone! This is John, Adam, Mike, Jameson, Dave, & Nicki from the Rooster Teeth product and engineering team. We're working on the new Rooster Teeth video site and mobile apps. We're getting super close to launching both, so we wanted to take a break and talk to all of you wonderful people. We'll be over on the Rooster Teeth Subreddit from 5-6pm Central Time today, so head on over there and ask us anything you want about the RT site and apps. See you soon!

    • Open Beta Update - 2.23.18

      Hey, everyone,

I’ve pulled myself out of the engineering mines for a moment to send out a note about our kick-ass new video site, currently in development and in open beta for those of you who are new around here. I want to thank all of you who have been using the new beta site at, and especially those of you who have sent us your feedback. There has been a ton of it, and we appreciate every word. We’re trying to respond to as many tickets as we can personally, and we want you to know that the team here is really listening to you and working on the things you bring to our attention. Even after we officially leave beta and launch the site, we’ll continue to work every day to make it the best place in the world to watch Rooster Teeth content.

In the meantime, we are squashing as many of the big bugs as we can, and doing so as fast as we can. Some issues with login that caused a “Grey Screen” - that’s fixed. Login from Facebook, also fixed. There are still some issues around older videos not playing. We are aware of this and are fixing them as fast as humanly (or computerly) possible!

So if you haven’t been to to check out the beta site, go do that! For all of you using the site, please don’t stop. In fact, use it more. Chat during livestreams and drop some comments on the videos you watch. Let’s start making this new house feel like a home for the entire community!

      Stay tuned for updates! <3

    • Video Site Open Beta! - 2.13.18

Hello, Rooster Teeth Community! For those who don’t know me, I’m John and I work on the product and engineering team here at RT helping to create our brand spanking new video platform. We’ve been in closed beta for a few weeks now, and I can’t thank those community members enough who helped us put the site through its paces and provided amazing feedback. Today we have some pretty exciting news - we are now opening up the beta to EVERYONE. Yes, all of you can now head over to and watch videos on our new platform until your eyes bleed (if your eyes actually bleed please stop watching videos and go see a doctor).

Access to content will be the same as on the current site - FIRST members get to watch live broadcasts and see FIRST only shows, and community members signed into their Rooster Teeth accounts will have access to features that anonymous viewers won’t have. Speaking of features... while you’re on the site here are a few things we definitely want you to check out:

      • You can chat with friends and staff on all live streams!

      • The video player saves your spot so you can jump back in anytime

      • Improved search so you can find the content you’re looking for

      • Get notifications about new episodes being added to your watchlist

      • Explore content from all of our channels right on the homepage

Please remember that this site is in beta, so you may run into a bug here and there. Click the feedback icon on the beta site to report bugs and we will work through them as fast as we can. Interested in hearing other users opinions on the new site? Join the forum and start talking!

We’ll keep you updated in the coming weeks about bug fixes and new features planned for the video platform, news about what we’re doing with new mobile apps, a full site launch date, and even information on what we’re planning for the future of the community site (community is going to be so great, and we can’t wait to show you more in the coming weeks and months). Thank you all for your patience as we get this new site rolled out.

Enjoy the open beta and have a happy Mardi Gras!
