Beyond Black Mesa This is a short film based on Half-Life 2, and while I've seen only the trailer, it looks AWESOME. Created and directed by Brian Curtin, Beyond Black Mesa was shot on a consumer grade Canon HV-20 camcorder, but you'd never know looking at it. The effects and aesthetic are top-notch, the action looks exciting and dynamic, and the shots (at least in the trailer) are extremely well composed cinematically. The film premiered at the Sidewalk Film Festival in September, and the creators say it will be posted online in the near future. Personally I can't wait to see it.
