Avatar Marketplace up and running
As I'm sure everyone knows, not only have I not made a journal entry in forever, but the XBOX Avatar Marketplace is up. Now as far as I know, a lot of people said before this came out that it would be a waste of money and completely pointless. Many people have vowed to never use it, myself included. And then I saw all the cool stuff released with it, and I broke my vow the very same day, purchasing just about anything with the word "Steampunk" in it. I'm not going to lie, I really enjoy the new marketplace. The addition of props and new special clothes, as well as the ability to change the color of certain clothes (right now only the power T) allows a bit more customization to the little digital you who lives in your XBOX, and always does the same little dance. My avatar has not removed his goggle hat since I gave it to him, and he is ready to combat evil with his giant cotton swab should evil avatars come at him. But what impresses me so far is the new award system. Microsoft announced that every game after SplosionMan (SM included) will now offer awards for game play. I have yet to unlock any of these, but with Batman Arkham Asylum right around the corner, a game I never thought I'd be excited for, I can't wait to see what they give me.
