2011 Wrap-Up
Howdy I just finished posting my humongous music of the year compendium on the Tumblr in 4 parts. You can read them here, here, here, and here. Assuming very few of you want to wade through all of that though, I've gone through the trouble of posting my top 20 albums list here, with accompanying youtube links to a standout track from each. Hopefully there will be something new and interesting all of you can get out of it. 20. Place - Build (link to Bandcamp page since no Youtube videos were available) 19. Gloss Drop - Battles 18. The Color Spectrum - The Dear Hunter And seeing as I've got literally minutes to 2012, I guess I'll quickly say a few words about this past year. It was definitely a year of transition for me. I started my first full-time job with Music Sales and helped develop some pretty cool stuff. It's not at all an ideal position for me (pretty much all my work these days is data/file management and spreadsheet work), but as a first entry-level job, it's been pretty dang good. And it's allowed me to finally move out and into Brooklyn, which has been great so far. So most of my year has been spent essentially getting that part of my life together. But I've still managed to work on some pretty awesome and fun stuff. I don't usually make New Years "resolutions" other than to continue doing all I can to achieve the things I want. I'm ready to kick this coming year's ass in terms of that. I've got a ton of ideas and projects that I want to bring into fruition, and I'm going to get at least some of it done. I won't speak of any of them in detail yet, but hopefully within the next month or so I should have some better ideas of what I'm going to focus on for the next year at least. The only other so-called resolution I have is to see more of you lovely people this year. I'll have RT Philly to look forward to again, but I'm definitely planning on attending TO this summer, and if possible I'd love to travel elsewhere and visit some of you. Obviously too early to say when or how exactly, but I wanna make it happen. As always, I want to thank each and every one of you for the friendship, love, and support you've all offered this past year. I love you all dearly. And I sincerely hope that those of you who had less-than-pleasant years (you know who you are) have far better 2012s than 2011s. And if not, well, we'll all be gone by this point next year (unless you're John Cusack) anyway, so whatever! Happy New Year, RoosterTeeth. LINKED MEDIA
