The NEW Porn Industry
I hate thinking that I might be getting formulaic, as my last journal entry was also about porn, but that was over a year ago, so I think I'm probably safe.
I think that this country needs a new porn industry. The current one has done a pretty good job, but I think it can be better. I for one am absolutely sick and tired of these over-inflated, plastic, blonde, cookie-cutter bimbos that pervade the porn industry. I think that their popularity stems from the days of sexual repression and the pinup girls. Back then you were lucky if you got to see a handful of nude women in your life, so the pinup girl served to illustrate the sexual "ideal". Now the times have changed and sexuality no longer holds the same taboos. I am a real guy, and I for one would like to see real women in porn!
I love sex. I love the hot sweaty passionate type best. I don't think I'm alone in that preference. When I fantasize about sex, I'm not thinking about some silicone laden porn star, I'm thinking about realistic sex. You know, something that might happen in my actual life.
So back to the industry. I think a killing could be made by exploiting a currently unexplored area of porn. Normal people fucking, and loving it. Based on the number of "homemade" amateur videos there are on the internet, I think there are plenty of normal people who are willing to have sex in front of a camera. Now imagine that the people featured in the video get paid nicely for their time, and the camera work is done by professionals with solid equipment. That, my friend, is a business model.
So what do you think? Do you agree that we need a new system that actually meets the consumer demands, or are you happy with the stilted dialogue and faked pleasure of the current productions?
