So it has come to this...

Some Dutch Runescape player was assaulted and violently beaten by two other teenagers, who forced him to transfer to them several high-value in-game items he had earned, notably a special mask and amulet.

The opinion from the Supreme Court of the Netherlands

Either Google Translate needs fine-tuning or the crackdown by the Dutch on mind-altering drugs in recent years is really for the best. Long and awesomely terrible story short, virtual objects qualify as "goods," being desirable pieces of art, so they cannot be usurped through coercion from their rightful owners, and the theft conviction was upheld.

The grim reality being presented to us can only reaffirm how lowly and stupid the human race remains, and dares to suggest that we have reached a new sociopathic low as a species. Putting aside for the moment the deep philosophical ramifications which will haunt me forever, I'm fairly certain this is the most pathetic, small-minded robbery which has ever gone to the highest tribunal of any nation.

Now that the NDAA is law, (how) can the Supreme Court rule it unconstitutional?

With the recent execution of a man professing his innocence, I am reminded of this:

news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1350&dat=19801030&id=lTBPAAAAIBAJ&sjid=mAIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6226,4790311

Here's an excellent article on the resolution of the case:

news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1350&dat=19801030&id=lTBPAAAAIBAJ&sjid=mAIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6226,4790311

Had it not been for vindictive women who were wronged by the perpetrators, this man would have rotted away in prison.

My Tigers clinched last night and I was reminded of Game 163 a few years ago, one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

Here's to you guys getting back into contention next year.

Go Tigers!

I was about to make a point about how vaccines are safe before I remembered how there are allegations against them year on year... and every time we had the flu vaccine at school we all got Flu. Immediately.

But the idea here would be that nothing contained within the pill or whatever it is would be dangerous, it would merely be foreign and resemble a threat, as an exercise for your immune system. (and of course there would have been clinical trials to prove all this)

Although thinking about it, maybe it would have no effect; maybe to be beneficial it would have to carry some risk, or be government provided, but that could still work; prescribed pills to boost your immune system after a serious operation or something. Most medicines have a drawback somewhere.

At least with the popular vote the general consensus would have more weight, making the elected official being held accountable by their constituents. In my area at least we have an 11% unemployment right now and our representative was on Fox News for weeks blowing smoke about how "we" want to lower the budget but what we really want is more jobs in our area. But it boils down to personal accountability of elected officials

I don't expect you to comment unless I ask for an opinion or an interpretation. I forward you articles that I come across because I think you would be interested and I believe that the police have taken their power for granted and abuse the Constitution.

Honestly, I don't go looking for these things.

They just simply appear in my travels across the interweb. This one was posted here on RT.

Ultimately I am responsible for my actions and decisions as an American I will not hold another man responsible for what I do.

My lawyer appreciates that I am forthcoming with all information and take the high road. It makes his 'job' so much easier and at the end of the trial we are better friends, and Americans, for what we have been through.

The 'peace officers' should welcome someone recording their behavior. It would ensure that they would not be falsely accused of wrongdoing if one were to file a complaint against them. Unfortunately, the 'peace officer' feels threatened by an American exercising the Freedoms that were valiantly fought for, and defended.

As long as you don't mind me bringing forth such Constitutional issues from time to time, I will keep them coming with the tacit agreement (OK - since I'm typing this, it isn't so tacit) that you are not responsible for the decisions I make and the actions I take on such matters.

At the end of the day (and in the twilight of my life) if I can keep the candle of Freedom, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness burning bright, I will feel that my life has given me so much more back than what I have given into it that no one can ever hope to take that away.

And in the end, my life has had great meaning and impact as an American.

Excuse me for a moment while I have the serving wench fetch me another drink.
