What I'm Up To....
I'm still alive first off folks. Lately work and other commitments in life have really cut down on my time. I'm still active though. As far as what games I'm getting/hope to get this year: 1. Asura's Wrath I have watched gameplay of it and done the demo that came out two weeks ago. Honestly, after playing it I felt like it was Bayonetta all over again. Fast paced action mixed with QTE's. Whilst I understand a lot of people don't like them I personally don't mind. I am definately interested. 2. Devil May Cry HD Collection Now I personally have never played the Devil May Cry series. Reason being I never had a PS2. Even so at least now I'll get to play the first three games of the series. After this I'll get Devil May Cry 4. In any case I can't wait. 3. GTA 5 It's Grand Theft Auto, what can I say? I've always loved the games. And GTA 4 was pretty decent even if it took a few steps back, it was still fun. The multiplayer system was pretty robust and had players on it for ages. GTA 5 will hopefully be better. Not only that but it will have the players returning to San Andreas, remade like Liberty City was in GTA 4. Plus GTA San Andreas was in my opinion the peak of the GTA series. It had more vehicles and weapons and better looking locales. Oh and yes, there are fighter jets returning too. 4. Halo 4 So what if it's another Halo game? Yes admittingly I'm one of those people who wish Halo had just been left as it was after Halo 3. But still, I'm willing to give it a chance provided I see some gameplay first. If that convinces me then I will buy it on day 1. 5. DmC I'm interested, the game at least looks nice. Yes I know graphics are not the thing to focus on but I reckon a game should still look presentable at least. And yes I am aware of the fact that people are bitching about it because it supposedly isn't loyal to the original franchise. Get the fuck over it people. 6. Mass Effect 3 The final game in the trilogy starring our favourite galactic hero, Commander Shepard. You've stopped Sovereign, the Geth and the Collectors. And now we are fighting the Reapers, uniting the other races to stop them. Not to mention your ME2 and ME1 squad mates will be in this game. Those that survived anyway. There's also the co-op missions on top of that. I seriously can't wait. 7. Assassin's Creed 3/2012 Ah yes, the final Assassin's Creed game that comes out on December 21st to tie into the end of the world. I've always been an AC fan since the beginning. Sure I never played the handheld games but that doesn't matter too much. The AC games are fantastic and I at least hope this game is the proper sequel we've all been waiting for. Desmond Miles and the Assassin's will try to stop the Templars, Vidic and all of Abstergo from launching the satellite. Desmond now has awokened from his coma and not to mention has gained the skills of Altair and Ezio Auditore. This game is gonna be big. 8. Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengance Honestly I don't give a damn that people are pissed off at this game. It's non-canon. Therefore, it doesn't count as a proper game in the franchise. Frankly I've never played the MSG series. Yes I understand that it doesn't play like MSG games but that's fine by me, it looks cool and the gameplay intrigues me. 9. Darksiders 2 Now this game could possibly be held back until next year due to THQ's financial troubles but hopefully this won't be the case. I thought the first game was great. Flawed yes but great all the same. Darksiders was a good start for Havok considering it was their first game. They nailed down a reasonably decent story and the gameplay was satisfying though a little repetitive a lot of times. My biggest complaints also were that there was a bunch of achievements in Darksiders 1 that were terrible. By that I mean they were so annoying to get. Some just weren't worth your time. Not only that but I really don't want to spend an hour doing puzzle after puzzle in a dungeon like the one where you rescue the Angel of Death from. That said, Darksiders was good but if you are going to make executions in the game look good, add more in instead of having the character doing the exact same ones on creatures time and time again. In any case, looking forward to Darksiders 2. The devs are focusing on the narrative a lot more this time so I can expect much more. Especially when we play as Death. 10. Dragon Commander Whilst Project Draco does not have an official release date yet, Dragon Commander looks to be promising. You get to star in many battles across the lands, set in a time earlier than Divinity 2 but once again playing as a Dragon Knight that can turn into a dragon at will (and also uses a jetpack). Suffice to say, I've got my eye on this game after how good Divinity 2 was. |
