Infinite Undiscovery review. Ok so this game i rented, and after playing through it I enjoyed it to say the least. Most of the achievements are easy to obtain, the graphics and texture mapping is rather nice on the characters, and the game play has the ability to change as you see fit.
ok first off achievements, super easy to get most of them, i think in a weeks rental i managed to get 29/50, some i missed due to not knowing the achievements ahead of time, and some i missed just because time ran out on the rental. But not too dificult to get any of the 50, except for the 1gs achievement. I've read some where that to get this you have to beat the hardest boss in the game on the hardest difficulty, no idea if this is true or not but that sounds like it could be a pain to get.
Ok the characters look kind of cartoon like, FFX styles cartoony, but the facial texturing and the textures of the clothing is really well done, shadows are cast nicely. The over world graphics are nice but the over world it self is rather boring there isn't much depth to the world itself.
Ok game play, always the most important thing in an RPG along with story. The game play was decent, fast paced battles with interesting looking magic and battle skill attacks. The gameplay also changes every now and then when you are given the abilitty to make secondary and tertiary parties to fight along side you or do other parts of a dungeon. These other parties are completely independant of your party and they even help you out in a few cases, i thought this was a pretty cool addition to the game. Also, another thing i found interesting is there was no level cap at 99 or 100, as it stands i managed to get the main character up to level 120 before i had to return the game. the only thing i didn't like so much about the game is there is no easy way to transfer from town to town. Say if i was in the last town and got a side quest mission that needed me to go back to the first town, i would have to run my character all the way back which is balls.
All in all, I would give this game a 7.5. Its not a must play or a must rent or must buy. However if you enjoy RPGs then i'd suggest it as a play though.
