Mass Effect SeriesLet me start by saying that I was never a fan of Mass Effect, that being said, I also never tried the series out, I knew that it was there and heard it was good but didn't try it until Mass Effect 3 and I loved it. I played Mass Effect 3 and thought everything was incredible, the story, the gameplay, and just the general interactions that you have with people in the game. Although I was dissapointed by the endless amount of bad choices that Shepard makes in the previous games from the non-import character, the game was still amazing. That being said when I did my second playthrough and made all pro-Geth options and still couldent get them and the Quarians to work together I decided that was enough. I had a friend that has been a big fan of the series from the start and was part of my descision to get the game in the first place. I asked him if he would let me borrow Mass Effect 1 and 2, and the incredible journey began. I wanted to play a vastly different class from the vanguard that I played in 3 so I decided to play as an inflitrator. To be honest, aside from the always unbelievable story of mass effect series, I coulden't stand either the combat or the planet scanning at first in this game, fortunately I got over the general combat (When you first start off it feels like your playing a Tom Clancy game, 1 or 2 shots and you're dead but you get much more powerful throughout the game.) never got over driving around every planet in a rover though. I feel like I made the right choices in this game (Saving the Rachni,Saving Kaidan, Saving Wrex, Saving Private Ryan.) and when i got to the end i was actully pretty sad to be leaving the game as I was beginning to really enjoy it. But I was fine when I realised how utterly great Mass Effect 2 was. (BTW, I played paragon, my romance was Liara and I decided to save Kaidan.) Mass Effect 2 was a clear, incredible step in the right direction for the series, the story was still great as always and the true gameplay got much better, not to mention all the awesome squadmates you get in the game. I heard some great things about the Shadow Broker DLC and decided to get it. When I got it I loved it, but was dissapointed in the end because of the DLC being very short, it was still great, but short and sweet really is the best way to describe it. Im now playing through Mass Effect 3 and am loving all the good choices that I made. I truly am proud to be part of this incredible series and will love finishing up 3. Just the fact that I wrote a Journal, let alone one this long about it truly is a testament to this series. If you're reading this and have played the series I'm sure you agree with what I have said, and if you havent played the series you really should. It is a gaming experience unlike anything you have ever done in a game, and you will remember and love the series and its universe for years to come. Thank you Bioware for making these games, truly, I have enjoyed the experience tremendously.
