Oh sweet insurance, how I've missed you!
When I graduated from my tech school a very important thing happened... My insurance coverage ran out/was canceled. Now, I know what you're thinking... "Why not just apply for a job that can give you new medical coverage?" and that is a very good question. The problem with that is it's not exactly easy for me to just go out and apply for a job. I have pretty bad anxiety and I've never been to a doctor to receive treatment for it. I don't even have my license because I'm not comfortable in a car. However as of January 1st, I'm able to get back onto the family plan. Medical, dental, eye doctor... Everything. If you've seen my new avatar you can see I've already gotten new glasses. As of yesterday I've seen my dentist for the first time in over two years. I can't express how nice it feels to have insurance again. Nice... except for the pain my mouth is experiencing due to the infected tissue I had to get scraped out... Kids, listen to your parents and brush your teeth twice a day. No cavities though! I see this being a huge benefit for my life. The next planned visit is to a doctor where I can hopefully get proper treatment for my anxiety and, again hopefully, start driving/looking for a job/moving out. I'm feeling hopeful. It's quite a nice feeling. Hope all is well. |
