Rocky Point Trip I haven't told anybody on here about my trip but I guess I will now.
A bunch of the seniors I graduated with decided to go down to Rocky Point, Mexico for the weekend! We rented a condo for about 600 bucks (split among 9 people): checked in Friday evening and checked out at noon today.
It was a blast! Most of our fun revolved around us all getting wasted every night because the drinking age is 18 in Mexico, but a lot of it also came from meeting a bunch of new people. If you've never been to Rocky Point before let me just tell you that it is pretty much just packed with a ton of Americans who come to party. Everybody there was pretty friendly and there to have a good time, so there was hardly any conflict. Not only did we meet new people, but we got to know each other that much more after spending so much time together, so I know I will miss any of these friends who go to college away from home.
Now the bad part. Although most of the locals we dealt with were friendly, the "Policia" there were crooked. Yesterday evening my friend David and me were just walking down the street when a couple of Federales pulled up really quick and told us to put our hands on the truck. After patting us down extra thoroughly they told my friend he could go but claimed that the knife I had in my pocket was illegal (it definitely wasn't). So my friend and I shot an "Oh shit!" glance at each other and i hopped in. I hopped in and the guys drove me down the street a bit, but then stopped and turned to me. They said they could let me go if I just paid the "80 dollar" fine right then, so that they wouldn't have to "inconvenience" me. In other words: I had to bribe my way out of it with the rest of the money I had with me on the trip. So the 80 plus the knife added up to 100 bucks I lost to these mother fuckers! The thing that pissed me off the most was that he searched me first and saw the 80 dollars so thats how much he charged me. What did I learn? If I go back to Mexico I'll definitely keep my money in my sock and if I get pulled over again I'll bribe the guy right away with like 20 bucks before he has the chance to see I have more.
So there's my Mexico story and I'm sticking with it.
