Hey, remember all that shit I was posting a while back about my band and my gig? Well, we just finished recording a couple of songs with my band. Man, this process is harder than I thought it was, though. If you're curious, you can hear a couple of my songs on some rough recordings.

I thought It'd be sweet if I had no friends and one picture. But the picture is of The Redwalls. They are a new chicago band who have to albums, De Nova and Universal Blues. The only songs that have gotten somewhat big are Thank You and Front Page but they are still not well known. Id highly suggest buying both there CD's but if you wanna test them out download Front Page, Thank You and Falling Down. There sound is as if The Beatles and Bob Dylan had sex and created a baby that could play classic sounding licks and have a lead singer who has the caliber of John Lennon.

Dude your taste in music rocks as well as your tase in books and movies. I just read some of your comments on the real punk bands thread and thought i'd drop you a hello on the line. Punk news: Iggy and the Stooges are back in the studio to record a new album (supposedly).

That seems to be a common criticism of Victor, but, I guess I don't understand it. I mean, I listen to the Flecktones, and he's definitely the bass player...he puts together some gorgeous pop and jazz lines underneath the group. And for his solo stuff, well...he's trying to say what he feels with his instrument, which happens to be the bass.

I really don't dig on people that are all flash or stuff like that, or play showy lines at the expense of the song, but that's not Victor for me. In the Flecktones, the bass is very much a melodic, lead instrument, and it is an interesting counterpoint to Jeff Coffin's saxophone. But this is a pretty unique and special arrangement, and other bass players in other bands aren't so lucky.

That's great news about Benson. While I have heard of the Greenhorns, I have never heard anything by them. What are they like? Are they worth a listen?
