Lets get a sarcasm indentifier for the internet in text comments and articles!

I’m some what of a sarcastic person when it comes to the comments I make. Especially on the internet, however my problem up tot his point has been that people can’t tell if I actually mean what I’m saying or if I’m being funny.

This has been a problem over the years because it starts flame wars with people who don’t know me and my personality all that well. Because in case you haven’t noticed peoples tones/voices don’t come across all that well in text unless you know that person and their personality.

In places where people don’t know me I would use things like <sarcasm>Sarcastic Comment</sarcasm> or variations of things like that. Problem is if your not a geek you don’t get it and now I’m back to square one with people and their ever on going need to argue with people on the internet it ruthless ways since they are anonymous. That in itself is a completely different conversation.

This problem of not knowing what is sarcastic or isn’t ends now.

As I said earlier behold…

The sarcastic comment mark. Put it and the end of something you are saying that is sarcastic and your good to go. If we can actually get people to adopt this we cut down on the useless fights we have on the internet and maybe we will all be able to find things a little funnier.

Let’s try it internet, pass this post or this picture around and get the sarcasm mark out there!
