Hi all, it's been a while. And I finally have a small break at work to type stuff. I've been very busy, and also very sick. To recap my life these last several months.... First and foremost, I have a new girlfriend. We've been with each other for roughly three months now, and I dare say this is the one. She's absolutely enamored with me for some reason.... haha To answer any questions in advance: 1. We met at our mutual friends wedding. I was a groomsman, she was a bridesmaid. It worked out perfectly. 2. She's a nurse, and a damn good one at that, so we both make good monies. 3. She's very beautiful, I'll have pictures up at some point, I'm sure. 4. Boobs. Second in my bag of tricks, I just got back from work last week after four weeks of hospital visits and bed rest. I somehow got Mono. Now before you say anything, no it wasn't Alli's fault. She was not sick, didn't get sick after me either (good thing). I work for a law firm that has a lot of traveling bandits in our group, and I touch a lot of computers, desks, etc... so I can only assume I touched the wrong damn thing. Anyway! I had Mono, and it enlarged and then burst my spleen. I also found out I'm part of 16% of people in the world that has multiple spleens. I actually have a companion spleen (I feel like I'm in Skyrim), and the small companion is what burst. I took an ambulance ride to the emergency room, where they sent me home with pain pills... yup. I was then admitted the next day where doctors still couldn't figure out why I was in pain. So surgeons went in with a camera in my belly button, found that I was filled with blood, cut me open and drained me good. I then spent the next four weeks recovering and fighting off the virus that caused the whole mess. Fortunately, Alli stayed with me a lot. While I spent my week in the hospital, she called in sick and took PTO days, and essentially never left my side. LOVE HER. She put in a lot of time just for me and I'll never forget that. Even though I have to associate it with such a terrible life experience. haha But now I'm back at work, which leads me to my final major change. I came back to a promotion. Yes folks, I have solved the mystery of getting a raise/promotion. Just get sick. Mono,Cancer, it doesn't matter. Get sick, ........, PROFIT! I was promoted to User Support Specialist at work and was given a lovely raise. Not only that, but I also get my standard raise in January too... so, go me. So yeah, this has been my life... welcome to fun town. |
