We found out we are actually getting the MRI done at the urgent center with the specialization in such and then will be going to a Neurologist thereafter to study the results. Hopefully.
Also the hospital thing is not able to happen unless we are advised by a doctor to go to ER. Otherwise they don't want us there. Basically - If it turns out to need serious, immediate attention then we can go to a hospital. But in order to find out we need tests, and hey can't have that without machine and stuff.
The urgent care center, as I said has specialists in operating and using MRIs to view things and analyze. It'd be great to have an awesome neurologist, but they were being unreasonable so once again not much choice.
Neurologists are ALWAYS backed up. I had to wait 3 months before my first appointment with mine, and while it's good that you're searching for another neurologist, I would recommend making an appointment with the best neurologist you can find, and going to an exceptional hospital for immediate attention, not just an urgent care center with an MRI machine and some doctor who really knows nothing about brains.
Easy to say but there are a ton of underlying factors and we can not wait more than a month. Medically speaking we need to know soon because it could lead to something being far worse if we don't investigate within the week. Not to mention that our insurance will not cover it and will go up drastically if we don't get this in before the new year. I can't exercise or do much of the things I always did before until having an MRI.
We can't wait a month, and neurologists generally keep slots known as "emergency" for people who have urgent referrals which I do in fact have from my doctor. The office was being completely unreasonable, and we have no other choice because it simply can not wait.
