The US and what we are facing
So I sit here, bored to tears waiting for a package to arrive from UPS that contains a few bottles of wine from one of my favorite wineries in the Finger lakes, Goose Watch, and I started to think. Now the fact that I started to think can be a very bad thing mostly due to the fact that it tends to lead to me creating arguments with no determinable end. But today I think I actually came up with something that will hopefully be informative.
I have been watching CNN and CNBC lately because of everything that is happening to our country financially and with companies such as GM and Chrysler. But the one thing I am worried about the most is the Stock market and the budget plan introduced by our president that Everyone seems to love for some god awful reason. I work at Starbucks and as a partner/employee we are granted stock options in the company. Well since I acquired my stock with the company in November I saw a steady rise and scary fall of our stock market. Recently I have been especially worried because every time President Obama introduces new ideas about his "stimulus plan" the market seems to tank and everything gets worse.
So I have racked my brain over the last few weeks as I watch the news, the stock market, and listen to my Sirius satellite radio Patriot 144(yes the conservative talk radio) wondering what the hell is going through the heads of our president and law makers. We have dumped almost 3 trillion dollars into our economy, mostly to banks and pet projects of Law makers, and nothing has happened. In fact our country is going into a greater decline because the U.S. dollar is failing and becoming so week that we won't be able to pay back any of our current debts. So why the hell did out Congress feel that it was ok to try and pump money into failing banks and also try to take over all the banks, but not give the us the Tax payers any of the money so we could buy stuff to stimulate the economy and help it get back on it's feet.
Tax day is in two weeks, I have mine done and I know how much I'm getting back.... $50 and it sucks ass because everyone I know it getting a ton more than that. The only reason I am getting so little is because I made more money this past year than I did the year before. If that is the case then why the fuck am I not getting more back. A $700 billion plan was approved 2 months ago to supposedly bail out banks and help with the failing economy, well I think that money would have been better spent by giving every person in the U.S. at least $1 million to spend on what every they wanted tax free. Do something like that and watch how fast companies like GM, Ford, Chrysler, Starbucks and any number of large or small companies bounce back. The way our country has been managed in less than 100 days of a new presidency is appalling and going in a direction suited for Socialism and destruction. The U.S. is no longer the great and powerful Super Power it used to be because we owe money to so many other countries that we are barely able to say that we are the United States of America.
Money is not something Our government can play with and believe that everything will be okay. Money is something very powerful in this world that will get even the people with the best of intentions into major trouble that can't be resolved. So what is it that will happen to our country and out world in the next 4 years. In my opinion I think Nostradamus was wrong about Armageddon in the year 2012, I think it is happening now and it's going to be very painful to our wallets. Whatever is happening and whatever will happen doesn't look good, all I and most likely the rest of Intelligent America can do is hope that our law makers listen to us and do something smart for a change. I plan to make my voice herd to my congressmen and representatives but I alone wont make a difference. It will take a lot more people and many more voices to make a loud enough voice for us to be respected and heard for what we think needs to be done.
